Nydd is a small programming unit, providing creative services for years with expertise in programming.
Founded in 2005 by Takashi Mizohata, after his finishing his first Master Degree from NYU, nydd has been developing experimental web applications, with a good mix between cutting edge web technology and his original strength such as visual graphics. See Takashi’s original works at grf-design.com, which is his visual graphics design unit.
Recent focus is on rapid prototyping and interaction design along with the Web Standards. With using Symfony framework, Takashi has build several CMS and other web applications. And also Takashi has lots of knowledge and experience with jQuery JavaScript library, and been exploring the latest HTML Standard, such as Canvas and Local Storage in HTML5 these days. By wrapping up those experiences, he is trying to release open source libraries that help to speed up daily development. Please take a look at code section.
Takashi was born and raised in suburb of Tokyo, Japan. His father was always a guy who like something new. So Takashi was surrounded by a lot of weird stuff, including a personal computer, since when he was 7 years old.
Takashi didn’t pay a lot of attentions to the computer until his brother got an Apple Power Macintosh 8100/80. He started stay in front of the computer, and learned how to use it by himself. And one day, his first-made morphing movie (Remember Michael Jackson’s “Black and White” ? Something like that.) amazed all the family member. That was the beginning of his creative life.
While Takashi started visual arts projects on the side, he received a B.A. in Comparative LIterature (focus on Linguistics and Film Studies), from Chiba University. Then he moved to NYC and received M.P.S. (majored in Media Art) in Interactive Telecommunication from New York University, Tisch School of the Arts.
Takashi now dwells in a small apartment in Brooklyn, New York.
